DESCRIPTION
A fine, totally restored palazzo in the ancient heart of this tiny hill town, perching high above the Adriatic sea. The house has been completely renovated but retains the original marble or parquet floors. The accommodation consists of : A large entrance hall, and a marble staircase leading to the first floor of the house. This floor has a large bright room located at the end of the staircase, which in turn leads to a study with a fireplace and frescoed ceiling. A second door leads to a hallway, which has a ceiling frescoed on the theme of ‘Terpsichore’ ( one of the nine Greek muses and dedicated to dance). This hallway leads to a TV room with a big fireplace and a ceiling painted with two ‘Putti’, a very large living room with the ceiling painted with images of ‘Bacchus’ and a fully equipped kitchen. Another wide hallway leads to a bedroom and a bathroom lined entirely in green marble and equipped with a bathtub. There is a store room also on this floor. The second floor, which is accessed via a luxurious wooden staircase, has two bedrooms with sea views, a room with lockers, a bathroom with a marble floor and a Jacuzzi large enough for two people. There is a second bathroom with a shower. The rooms are connected by a corridor with ample illumination provided by a skylight. On the same floor there are two terraces: the first is large and ideal for dinners and parties; it has the most beautiful sea view. The smaller terrace looks out over the countryside to the Maiella mountains. Casa De Torres, as the house was named, has an interesting history: It was built for a member of the aristocratic Spanish ‘de Torres’ family, who was archbishop of Salerno and a member of the Supreme Council of the Emperor Charles V of Hapsburg Spain. Restored with every respect paid to its history and the old frescoes carefully preserved and restored, the facilities of the house are nevertheless fully modernised with state of the art burglar alarms, surveillance monitor, ADSL ready and with Satellite TV and mobile coverage. Sylvi Alto itself is an idyllic, tiny town with a fountain, an ice cream parlour, restaurant and bar. It looks out over the blue Adriatic and is only 10 kilometres from Pescara yet feels timeless and remote, set as it is in Abruzzo’s 3rd national park. Total floor area in the region of 250 sqm and Energy Performance Certification Energy Efficiency Class “G” – EPI 268.4 KWh/m2/year.
